Description
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Refresher course is designed to update and reinforce the knowledge of qualified first aiders where a workplace risk assessment has determined that this level of training is appropriate. Annual refresher training is strongly recommended to ensure first aiders maintain up-to-date knowledge and confidence between their mandatory practical requalification sessions.
This course revisits the core principles and essential skills required to fulfil the role of an emergency first aider. It covers primary and secondary casualty assessments, full body examinations, the recovery position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the treatment of common injuries.
Upon completion, learners will have refreshed and strengthened their first aid knowledge, enabling them to respond to workplace incidents confidently, competently, and in accordance with current best practice.
